It was my first book, and I was concerned that it would be disparaged by mental health professionals who had a more traditional view of how to handle behaviorally challenging kids. Collaborative & Proactive Solutions (CPS) is the model of care Dr. Greene originated and describes in his various books. About CPS. The CPS model is based on the premise that challenging behavior occurs when the demands and expectations being placed on a kid exceed the kid’s capacity to respond adaptively…and that some kids are better equipped (i.e., have the skills) to handle certain Ross W.
